Featured Artists

Hazleton Art League supports local artists within the Hazleton area community and beyond by providing opportunities for exhibitions, teaching artist opportunities, and allowing for the opportunity to sell their work in the Art League gallery and online. Such opportunities allows artists to be featured in beneficial positions to gain exposure to art collectors and patrons who frequent our organization.

Featured Artist Application Requirements

Featured Artist applications are applicable for a 12 month online feature on the Original Artwork & Gift Shop page. Applications are open to artists ages 18 years and older. All media are welcomed.

  • Please submit at least 5 — 10 images in JPEG format (detailed shots of the artwork are strongly encouraged but not required). Each image file should be labeled with the artist’s last name and title of the piece. 

  • Accompanying the images of the artwork should be a PDF file of a complete price list of the artwork being featured on the site. 

  • Artists must provide the proper dimensions of each piece they would like to sell online (formatted: height x length x width — Please indicate inches and/or centimeters). This information can be provided on the price list.

  • Artists must also submit an Artist Bio and Artist Statement. (*Keep in mind that the more art buyers know about the artist behind the work, the more likely they are to invest in purchasing the artwork.)

Additional Information

  • Artwork should be available for pickup at the Art League within 3-5 days of purchase.

  • Small artworks may be packaged and mailed at the expense of the buyer.

  • Indicate if artwork is original or a copy of another artist's work, i.e. Van Gogh, Monet, etc.

  • The Hazleton Art League retains a commission of 25% on all artworks purchased online.

Guidelines for Artist Bio and Artist Statement

Artist Bio:

  • Information about the artist such as where the artist is from and/or based. 

  • Place of study. 

  • Inspiration behind materials used. 

  • Previous exhibitions if applicable.

  • Any publications or accomplishments worth sharing.

Artist Statement:

  • Inspiration about choice of subject matter and how the subject matter and choice of media coalesce.

  • Why or how does the artwork resonate with the artist?

By applying for the Featured Artist Page, you are granting “Hazleton Art League” a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce images of your artwork on “hazletonartleague.org” and affiliated social media properties, as well as other media outlets. “Hazleton Art League” also has permission to resize and reformat images for the purpose of art exhibition sales, marketing and promotion of related artist works.

*Artist Retains Copyright: The artist retains all copyrights to their artwork without exception.
